How to Grow Eyelashes Longer and Thicker at Home
A few months back, I started researching eyelash growth serums. I did a lot of research and learned a lot about the science behind eyelash growth serum.
After learning the science behind the serums and how they worked, I hopped on Amazon and looked at all the eyelash growth serums available.
There are hundreds to choose from, and I just picked one. So I decided to try it and see what happens.
One of the reasons I picked the serum that I did it has the ingredients that my research showed me would really impact the growth of eyelashes.
Well, lo and behold, I started using this serum, and I was not attached to the results at all. I was using it one time a day in the morning and going out along with my day. Then, about six weeks in, I started noticing that my eyelashes were quite a bit longer.
There are several eyelash serums out there, anywhere from $20 up to $150. So it’s all over the board; if you want to find out more about the science behind the eyelash serum, you can read all about that here.
Best Eyelash Growth Serum for Thick, Full Eyelashes

The ingredients that go into an eyelash serum are pretty consistent along the way. However, one of the things I really like is the very natural ingredient peptides. They are the foundation of most of these eyelash growth serums. That really does make my heart sing because I am a natural girl. I like to go the more natural route whenever possible.
I have been using the VieBeauty Premium Eyelash Growth Serum. It looks like a mascara wand with a very tiny little brush on the end, and you brush it over your upper and lower lashes on our lash line. I’ve used it on the ends of my brows as well, with excellent results.
This particular serum has worked well for me. I have noticed a massive difference in my lashes’ length and healthiness since using it. In addition, this serum boasts amino acids in the formulation, and it’s only $28, so it’s super affordable.
It took around six weeks for me to notice my eyelashes were a little bit longer. Then, about three months in, it’s kicked in, and I’ve seen a tremendous difference.
Keep in mind that the results do taper off with any lash enhancement serums if you quit using the product, and your lashes will go back to where they were beforehand.
Eyeliner Tips for Mature Eyes

One of the essential steps to really lush thick full-looking eyelashes is tight lining your eye before doing your mascara.
If you haven’t tight line before, I can tell you it’s much easier than it looks. I know it seems a little weird and scary watching someone do it, but it’s straightforward once you do it and get the hang of it.
One of my favorite eyeliner pencils is the Loreal Le Liner. This eyeliner is so good. It’s easy to work with, it’s an automatic pencil, so you don’t have to sharpen them, and the formula really does stay put.
One of the tricks about tight lining is when placing your pencil onto your eye, focus on the base of your eyelashes. In other words, fill in all the space in between your eyelashes.
That’s going to give your eyelashes a thicker, fuller look. So place the eyeliner right at the base of the lashes and just move it back and forth until you feel like you filled in all the spaces in between your lashes.
After I’ve done my tight lining, that’s when I curl my lashes. When curling my lashes, I like to place it not so much at the base but a little bit above the base of my lashes, and then I pulsate and hold it for almost a minute if I have time.
Best Mascara Primer

After curling my lashes, I like to apply my mascara primer. I have not used mascara base until about three or four months ago.
I cannot believe the difference between how much better my mascara goes on and how much better my lashes look from using a mascara base.
I love the Loreal Voluminous Primer. I haven’t used any other primer, so I really can’t compare this to other lash primers, but I sure love this formula.
It comes in white, which looks a bit disturbing initially, but you get used to it pretty quickly. The difference I have noticed from using a primer before my mascara is a night and day difference.
It makes my mascara go on so much quicker. My lashes look so much longer and so much fuller. A little trick I’ve learned when I get to the outside edge, I fan those lashes out.
You want to keep that fuller shape by moving the wand back and forth. It really does help to keep your lashes separated, and you can do that with the mascara primer and the mascara.
Best Mascara for Women Over 50

After about a minute, when the mascara primer is dry, it’s time to apply the mascara. My current favorite is the Maybelline Sky High Mascara.
This is one of my favorite mascaras. First of all, it’s at a drugstore price, and it’s a really good product. Second, it lengthens the lashes, making them look more substantial. Finally, it goes on very quickly and comes off easily at night. I have nothing but good things to say about this formula.
This technique is so effective you really can stop there. When I do a second coat, I’m just going to focus on the tops of the lashes to make them look longer.
One Last Tip for Thick, Full Eyelashes
Often, our lashes will get clumped together, and it’s helpful to be able to comb them apart. You can go to Ulta or a lot of beauty stores and find those little combs that will separate your lashes.
I actually went to Walmart and into the cat section and picked up a flea comb. It was only $1.99, and it’s very effective because the lines on the comb are so close together.
Those are the tips and tricks that I’ve learned to make my eyelashes a little bit longer, thick, fuller, and a bit more oomph!
