Best Drugstore Makeup for Women Over 50

Today is a fun day of makeup. I’ve got a bunch of new products to try. I’ll be sharing what I think are some of the best drugstore makeup for women over 50.

Most of them are from the drugstore, with a few higher-end products thrown in there too. Some of the new products I’ll be trying are a new foundation, an eyeshadow palette, and a new brow product.

I’ll also be trying out and sharing what I think of the new BK Beauty line of lipsticks and liners.

Come along and join me to see what I think are some of the best drugstore makeup products for women over 50

City Beauty Products Reviews

Use Code PRETTYOVER50 for 15% off sitewide

One of the big hits for me this year has been my City Beauty Clear Plumping Lipgloss. I wasn’t sure about this product at first, but now that I’ve tried it, I appreciate it so much in my beauty routine.

This is a plumping lipgloss, but it doesn’t plump my lips up like if I were a 30 year old. However, it plumps them up a little bit and removes the lines on my lips.

I put this lipgloss on before I start doing my makeup. So it has a chance to sink into my lips and soften the lines and give me a little more volume.

I’ve recently tried the City Beauty Plumping Lip Gloss in Plum Springs, and I’m so over the moon for this color. It’s a beautiful, sophisticated color that is just perfect for the winter months.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

Revlon Colorstay Foundation

I love the Revlon Colorstay Foundation. This foundation is one of the best drugstore foundations. It’s an absolute holy grail for so many people.

It comes in a few different formulas. I’m using the normal to dry formula. My skin is more normal, but I thought the dry part might make it a little bit more hydrating for over 50 mature skin.

One thing that I notice when I use this foundation is that it looks so skin-like. Sometimes with foundation they look like they’re just sitting on top of the skin. This foundation doesn’t do that. It just melts right into the skin. It’s a charming foundation, and it’s at a drugstore price. I mean, what more can you ask for from a foundation!

Wet N Wild 10 Pan Palette Review

Wet n Wild 5 Pan Palette – Heart & Sol

The following makeup product is the Wet n Wild 5 Pan Palette. What I can say is that the formulation is beautiful.

Particularly for a very low drugstore price. It had absolutely no fallout – lots of pigment and blends out like a dream.

One comment I can say about the colorway, it didn’t work for me. It turns out very orange, and orange doesn’t work for my colorway. It just doesn’t flatter my skin tone.

So if this colorway works for you, I can say run, don’t walk, and pick up this palette for the price. I will probably try another one of these 10 pan palettes from Wet n Wild because they’re such a great formula at such a great price!

Catrice Cheek Lover Blush

Another run, don’t walk is this Blooming Hibiscus blush from Catrice. I hadn’t planned on using this today, but I am glad they pulled it out.

If you haven’t seen this blush in person, it is absolutely stunning. It’s a beautiful peachy pink color with a gold shift to it, and it does add the most beautiful look to your cheeks. I have used it several times, and it looks stunning every time.

Silky Matte Bronzer

Milani Silky Matte Bronzer

The Milani Silky Matte Bronzer in color Sunkissed is such a beautiful bronzer. It goes on wonderfully, and the color is just perfect.

It’s a very soft formula and blends into my pale complexion like a dream. The color is perfect for me, without any hint or orange or brassiness. It gave me a great sun-kissed look and offered just the right amount of glow.

Milani Prep Set & Glow

One of my holy grails is the  Milani Prep Set & Glow. You guys know how much I love this finishing powder.

If you’re not familiar with Milani Prep Set & Glow, there’s something so magical about what this powder does to my skin. When I’m all done with my makeup, I put this on right before I spray my setting powder, and it just does a magical kind of really subtle glowing, blurry, fantastic look on my skin. I haven’t found anything else like it.

Best Eyebrow Pencil for Beginners

Revlon Colorstay Brow Creator

The Revlon Colorstay Brow Creator is a really clever brow pencil. It is a micro pencil, powder, and brush all in one.

I love that it has a twist-up pencil, with a spoolie on the other end. The powder is a genius addition. It’s a great way to add more color in the areas of the brow where my hair is a little sparse without being too heavy looking. Overall, I think it’s a great product at an excellent drugstore price!
