3 Amazing Concealers for Mature Skin
As you might know, I’ve been on the great concealer hunt, and I have tried so many concealers in the past few months.
What I have learned in the past few months is concealer is a very personal thing. I have tried concealers other people swear by that are their holy grails. I tried it on my skin, and it just didn’t work for me.
I have identified three concealers that really work for me, which I think are worth looking at. I’ll be sharing why I like them, plus a few tips!

Best Concealers for Mature Skin
I use the Pixie Peach Eye Brightener to knock down the purple circles underneath my eyes before using concealers. I find that using a color corrector before the concealer really helps with my makeup application.
When I set down the concealer with my favorite setting powder Fente Lavender Powder it doesn’t crease and looks lovely throughout the day.
Best Eye Brightener
The first concealer is an oldie, but a goldie. I can’t remember a time in my life that this concealer wasn’t on the market. It is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser in the color Brightener.
I have actually had this concealer in my makeup collection since I started my YouTube channel. I’ve used it off and on. However, I recently pulled it out, and I forgot how good it is.
For me, the color Brightener is the only color that works well. I like my under eyes to be a lot lighter than my face to counteract the shadowing around my eyes. The color of this concealer is so brightening and fresh on my skin. It goes on smoothly, and it blends out well. It looks stunning on the skin.
I love that these concealers are super affordable. You can find it almost anywhere; it really does an excellent job concealing underneath my eyes. Also, it doesn’t make my eyes look older or crepey.
When I use this concealer, I try to use a very thin layer. So just hit the areas underneath my eyes where I want that color correcting. Although this one is the least moisturizing, if you have dry under eyes, this might not be the best choice out of the three.
Best Hydrating Concealer for Mature Skin
The next concealer is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Concealer. When I first heard about this concealer, I knew I needed to try it. But then, when I saw it was a stick concealer, I was worried about how drying it would be. Boy, was I wrong! The first time I tried this concealer, I was simply blown away.
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Concealer is so moist and hydrating. It feels like a dream going on under the eyes. It does a beautiful job of making my under-eye area look a little less wrinkled. What I love about it is that it just is so very creamy and hydrating when you put it on. It’s my favorite to apply out of all three concealers.
However, I will say this one has the least amount of coverage. It also has the most limited selection of colors. I do wish the lightest shade was a bit lighter. I like a much lighter and brighter concealer to open up underneath my eye. I find this concealer doesn’t quite brighten up my under eyes as much as I would like it to, but that’s the only complaint I have about this concealer.
So if you don’t need a ton of coverage and you like a creamy moisturizing product underneath your eyes, I can tell you the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Concealer might be perfect for you!
Tarte Concealer Review
Now the last of the three concealers and I have to share with you – I have a total crush on this concealer right now. It is the Tarte Ultra Creamy Concealer.
Granted, I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks, but I can’t stop using it! I was so surprised when I brought this concealer home and tried it for the first time. I instantly fell in love, and the crush has only gotten bigger.
I’m generally a drugstore gal, and I was so surprised that I liked this concealer so much as it is a higher-end product. Even though it’s a little bit more, it’s not the type of cost that will take your breath away.
This Tarte Ultra Creamy Concealer combines all the things I love about the other two concealers into one container. In addition, there are 35 colors in this particular formula. It has incredible coverage, feels very creamy and moisturizing going on, blends out beautifully, and dries down nicely.
Although it doesn’t feel quite as moisturizing as the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Concealer, the performance overall is outstanding. I wore it for 8 hours one day, and it still looked amazing at the end of the day.
I am so impressed with the Tarte Ultra Creamy Concealer formula. They really hit it out of the park!
